I called my friend Courtney to chat on Tuesday. We realized the weather was beautiful and the tulip festival was on so what better day to go? We packed up the kids and headed to Thanksgiving Point.

I love this picture Courtney took of me and the kids.

Preston and Paige took off as soon as they were free. Despite bringing Cindy's wagon, they didn't do much riding. At least Paige was willing to pull her brother.

The kids had way too much fun in the water. Paige almost climbed in. That won't surprise anyone who knows her obsession with all things wet. Preston showed her how to spray the fountain with his finger.

This is cute baby Alex, Courtney's son. Isn't he adorable?!

Moab

Greg spent Saturday in Moab. They left early and came home late and still managed to get two rides in. He logged 7 1/2 hours on his bike and his body felt it the next day. Greg loves the red rock and the beautiful views from the mountains.

I spent the day at Mom's. I got some cute pictures playhouse I spent so many hours in growing up. Paige had no problem climbing the ladder and going down the slide

by herself. Preston enjoyed the sand box. When I told Paige we were going to Grandma's, she said "Papa!" and "MaGam!" I thought she was asking for Megan. We realized by the end of the day that magam was grandma. So funny.

Skiing anyone?

We got the boat out on Saturday to clean it up and get it running. The morning was chilly, but warmed up in the afternoon. Since the weather was nice (60 degrees), we decided to head to the lake for a test.
We invited our friends, the Summers, and their two kids. We got to the lake around 4 p.m. The boat ran great. Of course, since we were at the lake, Greg couldn't resist a quick 45 minute run on the sky ski. He has been itching for 5 months to get out. He donned his nifty dry suit, gloves, hood, and helmet, and jumped into the 51 degree water.

He said he was just going to take it easy, then went out and pulled a back flip on one of his first runs. He was in heaven.
And so it begins- the 2008 ski season.

The swingset is finished

We just finished building the swing set for the kids. Preston is so excited. Paigey just walks around saying "Singset, singset". Greg built most of it while I was at work last Saturday. We call the slide Mach 2 because it is super fast. Paige lands on her bum or goes down backward and still lands on her belly. Eventually, we'll dig out the grass and put sand underneath it. Preston can play in the sand for hours. We plan to spend lots of time outside this summer.

Preston and Paige Layouts

I made these cute layouts as part of my yearbook for last year. Yes, it is April and I am still working on my book about last year. I wanted to share them because I love seeing how much the kids have changed from the first picture to the last. The white frames are part of a free template from peppermintcreative.com. The other pages will have a list of the cute things the kids have done this last year and some funny quotes they have said.

Preston can spell!

Preston was playing outside this afternoon. He came in and said "Mommy! I know how to spell truck! F-O-R-D" I love it! He is so funny.

Drove a Chev bought a WHAT???

Greg finally decided to sell his truck. I love this truck. He drove it when we were dating so I am a little sentimental about it. It is a half-ton and he needs something bigger to haul both the camper and the boat this summer. When he told me what he wanted to buy, I didn't get it. What is with guys and old trucks? He wanted a High-boy. I didn't know what that meant except that it translates to really old truck. Somehow, it is just about every guys dream to get a truck, strip it down, and rebuild it. Well, the one he found has mostly been rebuilt. It is a 1978 Ford 250. It just needs a little more work. In fact, less than 24 hours after buying it, he had the back tires off working on the brakes. He loves it. I still don't get it, but it's his baby. Greg is always joking about Chevy vs. Ford (Found On Roadside Dead) so we hope he won't be found on the roadside. If he is, he may be calling.

Introducing Peanut

Peanut joined our family a couple weeks ago. He is adorable. He is only a year old and has been raised indoors so we have some training to do. But he is cuddly and very gentle with the kids. Greg loves him because he reminds him so much of Scout, the dog we lost a year and a half ago. Greg wants to take him everywhere.

It was difficult to make the decision to sell our other yellow lab, Toby. We've only had him a few months, but he has destroyed a lot of property. We want the kids to be able to play in the yard without their toys being chewed to pieces. We still have our chocolate lab, Sadie as well. Actually, we have three dogs until tomorrow when Toby's new owner's come to pick him up. It has been a little crazy, but they all love to play together.
